Thomas Clyde Dickerson, Sr., affectionately known as "Papa T", age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Iva, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Elmer and Mary Ruth Bruce Dickerson. He was employed with Milliken working at Abbeville Mills for 30 years. He was a member of Carswell Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene Wiles Dickerson; his children, Rita Eaves and her husband Tim, of Starr, SC, Susan Thompson, of Abbeville, SC, T.C. Dickerson and his wife Darlene, of Starr, SC, and Jo Ann Stone, and her husband Donnie, of Abbeville, SC; two brothers, Billy and Jerry Dickerson; a sister, Juanita Johnson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, an English Shepherd, Rusty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua McCurry and a sister, Connie Lewis. The Funeral Service will be held at Carswell Baptist Church, on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Greg Moon and Reverend Michael Wiles officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
