Thomas Frank Kern, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Throughout his life, Tom shared his boisterous laughter, wonderful sense of humor, and deep thoughts about faith in God with everyone. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend and will be missed by all.
Tom was born on March 21, 1965, the eldest son of Thomas Elvin Kern and Mary Helen Kern, in Pasadena California. He graduated from the University of California of San Diego with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1990.
Tom had a knack for technology and data. He loved to streamline a process no matter what project he was working on. His mind was geared for efficiency, details and specifics. Thomas Kern wrote many books on his ideas such as The Invisible Person: I and many other books that made him happy. His life long goal of internal searching lead him to be introspective and demand that introspection of others as he believed we all needed to understand ourselves with ourselves.
Tom had a "Question of the day" for everyone and enjoyed deep theological inquiries and conversation. He read and studied the bible daily seeking truth.
Tom was a positive individual and always brought a smile and sense of humor to any situation. He adored his grandchildren and chose to be called "Grandfoot" because it was different and comical.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deana Hollingsworth Kern and their 3 sons Mathew, Benjamin, and James; grandchildren, Jackson, Ariel, Robert, Danny, Oliver, Logan, and Theodore; siblings, Elizabeth Engholm, Marianne Sterna, Ana Cohen, Cindy Nitchals, Jon Kern, & Mark Kern.
