THOMAS 'TOMMY' HEWIN May 23, 1956 - November 26, 2006STARR, SCMr. Thomas 'Tommy' Lee Hewin, age 50 of 205 Green Valley Road, Starr, SC, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.Born in Anderson, SC on May 23, 1956, Mr. Hewin was the son of Harold 'Red' Hewin and Dot Taylor Mize. He was a 1975 graduate of McDuffie High School and was an announcer for the Highway 24 Speedway in Townville, SC. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.Survivors include his father, Harold 'Red' Hewin and his wife, Mildred Hewin of Anderson and mother, Dot Taylor Mize and her husband, Charlie Mize, also of Anderson; spouse, Debra Traynum of the home; step-son, Joshua Traynum of Anderson; step-brothers, Don Smith of Mansville, OH and Steve Smith of Liberty, SC; step-sisters, Jan Verbeck of Anderson and Teresa Simpson of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving is a special daughter, Casey Horton who was raised in the home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Don Cox and Rev. Bruce Evans. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.The family will be at the home of his mother, Dot Taylor Mize, 119 Sunset Hills, Anderson, SC.Flowers are optional.
