Thomas Wilton "Tom" Reid, age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his residence. Born in Pelzer, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Reid and the late Ola Bishop Reid. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, from November 23, 1945 until September 13, 1946. He retired from Wellington Mill and American Security. He had also worked for A-Plus Tire and Brake. He attended Oakdale Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda W. Reid; four sons, Tommy Reid (Sandra), of Seneca, SC, Wayne Reid (Vickie), of Simpsonville, SC, Roger Reid, of Simpsonville, SC, and Brent Reid (Michelle), of Hickory Tavern, SC; a step-son, Paul Wooten (Wanda), of Anderson, SC; a step-daughter, Tammy Wooten Holliday (Scott), of Easley, SC; 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Angelo Reid and his brothers and sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend David Blizzard and Reverend David Walters officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Paul Wooten, 201 Public Well Road, Anderson, SC 29626 and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 127, Townville, SC 29689, or to Pruitt Hospice.
