Mr. Thomas Simon Ruhland, 66, of Anderson, SC died on July 15th, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House. He was born on December 20, 1948 to Sylvester J. and Rose Wankerl Ruhland in Plain, Wisconsin. He was a truck driver for Swift Trucking Company for several years before retiring. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict and worked as a Combat Engineer. Mr. Ruhland is survived by his mother: Rose Wankerl Ruhland; three sons: Daryl Ruhland and his wife Megan, Patrick Ruhland, and Jonathan Ruhland; five brothers: Stanley Ruhland and his wife JoAnn, Norman Ruhland, Dennis Ruhland, Jefferey Ruhland and his wife Brenda, and Ronald Ruhland; three sisters: Janet Moore and her husband Lane, Elizabeth "Betty" Ruhland, and Marie Johnson and her husband John; five grandchildren; Scarlett, Courtney, Britney, Lyndsey, and Nicholas Ruhland. Mr. Ruhland was preceded in death by his father: Sylvester J. Ruhland; one daughter: Angela Marie Ruhland, and one sister; Paula Green. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, July, 20, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Anderson, SC with Rev. Mike P. Jones, OFM officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC. Visitation will be on Sunday evening, July 19, 2015 from 6-8:00pm at the McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, SC.
