Hwy. 187 of Anderson, SC, went to be with Jesus on July 17, 2006.Born in Hart County, Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Carrie Norris Vickery and Willie Francis Vickery. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company after 25 years of service in Sales and Sales Management. He was a member of the Cos Pacesetter Club and attended many of the company business travels and awards for service.He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jane Herring Vickery of the home; two daughters, Deborah V. Sanford and husband, David Sanford of Starr, SC and Donna L. Vickery and husband, Mark Price of Piedmont, SC; one grandson, Derek Junkins of Starr, SC. Also survived by one sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Nelms and brother-in-law, Roy Nelms of Hartwell, GA; a sister-in-law, Etrulia Vickery of Inman, SC; father-in-law, James W. Herring of the home.Preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. Doyle W. Vickery of Inman, SC; Leonard J. Vickery and Bobby J. Vickery of Hartwell, GA; one sister, Janice Scott of Hartwell, GA and mother-in-law, Marie T. Herring of Anderson, SC.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Tom Turner. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park, Hartwell, GA.
