Mr. Timothy Ralph Spake, age 62, of 602 Loblolly Drive, husband of Carolyn Gordon Spake of the home, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC, on May 6, 1944, Mr. Spake was a son of the late Clarence Clifton Spake and Ethelyn Gunter Spake Gleason. He graduated from Boys High School in 1962, and was a graduate of Forest College. Mr. Spake attended Clemson University where he was a big supporter of IPTAY. He was a life member of VFW; a member of the Elks Lodge and served as their treasurer; a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Spake was a self employed accountant and also did title searches. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.In addition to his wife, Carolyn Gordon Spake, he is survived by his mother Ethelyn Gunter Spake Gleason; step-father, Max Gleason; brother, Mike Spake and his wife Ann, Anderson, SC; sister, Robin Hare and her husband Jimmy, Candler, NC; three nieces, Christie, Molly and Meghan; great-niece, Hannah; and great-nephew, Will.The funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. Burial will be in Old Silverbrook Cemetery.The visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2006, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at The McDougald Funeral Home. Mr. Spake will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday.The family is at the home of a brother, Mike Spake, 302 Pine Bark Road, Anderson, SC 29625In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
