Thomas Charles Foote, 80, died at his home surrounded by love and light with his family at his bedside on September 25, 2020. Born on September 17, 1940 in Gardner, Massachusetts he was the son of Thomas O. Foote and Jeannette Bettez Foote. Everyone who knew Tom will remember his smile which stayed on his face till his end. He was a devoted husband of 56 years, a loving and generous Father, Grandfather and friend. Tom was a gifted artist who enjoyed painting and drawing and playing guitar. He loved working with his hands and was able to build or repair most anything. You could see his love and attention to detail in his beautiful garden and in the furniture and wood crafts he made. Tom had an adventurous spirit, and as a lover of nature he was happiest being in the great outdoors. He loved hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing. He worked as a Senior Electronics Technician for the United States Department of Energy and served his country in the National Guard. Tom is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Martha, and by his two children and their spouses; Linda M. Brenkus (Bruce) of Belton, SC and Cyr Zeeberg-Foote (Tina) of Portland, OR; his two grandsons, Mitchell and Carter Brenkus; and two sisters, Bee and Dorothy Foote, both of Mt. Airy, NC. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Philip S. Gillespie officiating.
