Thomas Michael O'Connor, age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born September 3, 1941 in Blasdell, NY, he was the son of the late Jerome T. O'Connor and Hazel Clark O'Connor. Tom was a graduate of Clemson College Class of 1964. He was honorably discharged from the South Carolina National Guard and was the general manager of Frank Distributing Company for 32 years prior to his retirement. Tom initiated the Lake Hartwell Clean Up for which he won many national awards. He was an avid golfer and a tremendous Clemson Tigers fan. He was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Kathy Lombardi O'Connor; daughter, Shannon O'Connor Rippy, her husband Thomas and his children, Zachary and Kelly Rippy; and grandchild, Miles Gordon. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Frank and Eleanor Lombardi. The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Philip S. Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
