Obituary

Arthur Thomas Dickson, age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House. Born November 1, 1947, in Anderson, he was a son of the late Arthur Dickson and Betty Jo Dunn Dickson. Tommy was the co-owner of Dickson Appliance Service. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and member of the Campbell Patriots Post 184. He loved making road trips to the mountains in his mustang and reading his Bible. He was a devoted family man and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Carpenter's Church. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Rebecca Brock Dickson; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Dickson and Rebecca JoAnn Baskin both of Anderson; brothers, Steve Dickson, David Dickson, Ricky Dickson (Terri), Mark Dickson (Tammy), and Tim Dickson (Missy) all of Anderson; sister, Sheila Reed (Jimmy) of Anderson; and grandchildren, David Baskin, Gabriel Brock Baskin, and Kamrun Gentle. The family will receive friends Monday, April 11, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:30 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Ray Whitfield and Rev. Mark Dickson officiating. The committal service with military honors will be at 1:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Kendall Hicks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will be at the home of Jimmy and Sheila Reed.
