TONY BRUCE November 21, 1953 - July 10, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Tony Lerue Bruce, age 59, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Born in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Rumus Lerue Bruce and the late Willie Mae Hanley Bruce. He was a 1972 graduate of BHP. Tony worked at BMW Manufacturing for over 16 years. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church where he was the former Sunday School Director and had assisted in their music ministry. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Palmer Bruce; his children, Tony Bruce, Jr., Melissa Bailey, Brandon Bailey, and April Spataro; a brother, Joel "Shorty" Bruce, of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Marie Strickland, of Belton, SC and Jean Phillips, of Honea Path, SC; and five grandchildren, Mikaela and Braydon Bailey, Collin and Caiden Bryson and Nevaeh Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Ray Bruce. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM. The Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home, beginning at 4:00 PM with Reverend Dale Phillips and Reverend Brandon Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 3400 Hwy 252, Honea Path, SC 29654.
