Obituary

Travis Edward Scott, age 53, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his residence. Born February 4, 1968, in Greenwood, SC, he was a son of the late Douglas E. Scott and Sandra McNair Scott. Travis was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and the SC Criminal Justice Academy. He was lieutenant with the City of Anderson Police Department and faithfully served his community for 28 years until his retirement. In his spare time, Travis enjoyed building and flying model, remote control airplanes. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 32 years, Helen Henderson Scott; daughter, Harley Marie Shaw (Jacob) of Starr, SC; brother, Brandon E. Scott (Jessica) of Abbeville, SC; sister, Laura F. Scott of Due West, SC; grandson, Baylor B. Shaw; and close family friend, Nancy Fortner. Also surviving, is his family pet, companion and traveling partner, P-Nutt. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Melrose Cemetery, Abbeville, SC, with Rev. Lemar Tollison officiating. Police honors, in recognition of Mr. Scott's 28 years of service to the City of Anderson, will be rendered by the Anderson Police Department.
