Etrulia "Trudy" Jones Massey, age 94, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at her residence. Born on June 10, 1923, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Jones and the late Maude Duncan Jones. For 50 years, she was the loving wife of the late James Thomas Massey. Trudy was employed as a Machine Operator for Owens Corning Fiberglass where she retired after 28 years of service. She was a devoted member of Oakwood Baptist Church, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her sons, Frank T. Massey (Linda), and Bobby Massey (Donna); two grandchildren, Tracy Spires (Stuart), and Lisa Ashley (Neal); and five great-grandchildren, Cameron and Katie Spires, and Lauren, Rylee, and Emily Ashley. In addition to her parents and husband, Trudy was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters. The family will be at the residence of Frank and Linda Massey, 2916 Olive St., Anderson, SC 29625, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. following visitation in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 304 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, SC 29625.
