IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tyler
Kelly
March 4, 1980 – April 20, 2024
Tyler Stephen Kelly of Voorhees, NJ, formerly of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on April 20, 2024.
Beloved husband of Emily (nee Steinberg). Devoted father of Kieran Kelly and Rory Kelly. Loving son of Susan Kelly (nee McClain) and the late Daniel Kelly. Dear brother of Barrett Kelly (the late Myrna) and Tracy Cruver (Brian). Cherished nephew of George Steven McClain (Ann), Terry Lynch, and Becky Pittman. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tyler loved being outdoors. Whether he was camping by the river in his hometown or working in his yard, he was always in his element. Tyler was a master of the grill, and enjoyed BBQing, especially brisket. His chili recipe has even won awards at the local chili cookoff that he was proud to participate in.
A die-hard Notre Dame fan, Tyler's Irish pride ran deep. Inspired by his grandfather's bravery in WWII, Tyler had taken an interest in military history and books. Tyler was also known for his handiness, always ready to tackle any project with skill and determination.
He also enjoyed playing guitar and listened to all kinds of music, from rock and punk to blues, though he drew the line at country music. Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" was his favorite song.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Tyler will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Celebrant Michael T. Rippy will officiate. The family will greet guests immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to be made to his family, Emily, Kieran and Rory Kelly, 711 Travis Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
