Galloway, age 85, husband of Myrtle Vivian Rogers Galloway of 1901 Dobbins Avenue, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Pickens County, SC on January 21, 1921, Mr. Galloway was a son of the late Rufus L. Galloway and Margaret Isabelle Aiken Galloway. He retired from Otis Elevator Company in 1980 as an installer for sixteen years and was a mechanic. He was a United States Navy World War II veteran having served in the Pacific Theater and Korea. Mr. Galloway was a member of the Masonic Lodge #68, the Veteran of Foreign Wars and Nell Townsend Presbyterian Church.Survivors include his wife, of the home; sons, Bob Galloway and his wife, Barbara of Asheville, NC and Bruce Galloway and his wife, Elaine of Anderson and a sister Ruby Fossett of Piedmont.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Rhoda Davis, Lena Duncan, Ettie Durham, Vessie Chasteen, Edna Duval and Daisy Austin and brothers, Willard Galloway, Ivory M. Galloway and Rev. Vernon Galloway.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Julian Galloway and the Reverend Jackie Arnold.
