Velma Magness Anderson, SC Velma Jeanette Freeman Magness, age 85, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Colbert, GA, she was the daughter of the late Buren Freeman and the late Mildred Smith Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sanctuary of Praise. Velma was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Celeste Drake and her husband Jack, of Anderson, SC, and Jeff Magness, of Iva; two grandchildren, Amber Drake and Pastor Russell Drake and his wife Tessa; and three great-grandchildren, Ethyn, Emma and Ensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Brannon Magness The celebration of Velma's life will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with her grandson, Pastor Russell Drake and Pastor Edward Goddard officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
