Velton Taylor Anderson, SC Velton Eugene Taylor, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Westminster, SC, on May 17, 1931, in Westminster, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Dixon Taylor and the late Lillie Bell Patterson Taylor. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pepsi Co. as a sign painter and from White Jones Hardware. Velton enjoyed deep sea fishing, gardening and mission work. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Rice Taylor; two sons, Mike Taylor (Madalyn) and Tony Taylor (Tammy Peters); a daughter, Sharon Lyle (Ronnie); sisters, Linda Atkins and Sara Bradberry; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Robbie Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.
