VERA B. GODFREY March 19, 1927 - April 8, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Vera B. Godfrey, 85, formerly of Anderson, SC, passed away on April 8, 2012 at White Oak Manor, Rock Hill, SC.Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Will Burgess and Rossie Simpson Burgess. Vera retired from Wamsutta Mills as a weaver. She was an avid crocheter, enjoyed flower gardening, and was a loving mother and devoted grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia 'Cindy' Jenkins and her husband Bobby of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, T.C. and Fred Burgess; sisters, Irene Wilson and Ethel Burton; four grandchildren, Robert and Matthew Jenkins, Thomas and Jill Cromer and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her spouse, Osborne C. Godfrey; sons, James 'Jimmy' Cromer, Charles T. 'Tommy' Cromer; granddaughter, Kimberly Jenkins; sisters, Margie Taylor, Willie Mae Adams, Doris Ricker, Lula Carey, and Martha Jane Sanders.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 2:30-3:30pm, with funeral service following in the Chapel at 4:00pm with Reverend Jerry Parnell officiating.
