'Buck' Isom, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson County on June 19, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Rosalee Weldon Fowler. Mrs. Isom was a graduate of Girls' High School, Forrest College and attended Dietitian School. She was a bookkeeper for F. Glenn Plumbing Company, and worked as a dietitian at Belton-Honea Path High School, First Baptist Church of Anderson and St. John's United Methodist Church. After her retirement, she was a caregiver for several years. She was a long time and charter member of Central Baptist Church where she served as Historian, Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was currently a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Her passion was cooking and gardening. She was a resident of North Point Assisted Living.Survivors include her son, Jim Isom and his wife, Rita of Greenville; daughter, Sheila Machen and her husband, Jimmie of Anderson; sister, Jenny Thornhill of Greenville; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sons, Ronnie and Barry Isom; brother, Walter Fowler; sister, Dorothy Yates and a granddaughter, Sara Isom.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Mark Dickson and Reverend Billy Whitfield. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
