SANDERS June 29, 1924 - December 14, 2008ANDERSON, SCVera Patterson Long Sanders, age 84, of 314 Mar Mac Road, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson, SC on June 29, 1924, Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of the late Emmett Earl Patterson and Grace Chastain Patterson. She retired from Abney Mills, Wamsutta Plant with 40 years of service and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, James 'Jimmy' Long and his wife, Joan Smith Long of Anderson and two grandsons, Shane P. Long of Atlanta and Trey Long of Anderson.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, James Furman Long and her second husband, Joseph P. Sanders and a brother, Edgar Patterson.A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Tom Turner.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
