Verlie "Stoney" Dean Stonehocker, 86, of 100 Valley Drive, Townville, SC passed away on Friday February 26th, 2016 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Stoney was born on December 2nd, 1929 to the late William A. and Anna Leota Ice Stonehocker in Springfield, Colorado. Stoney was a US Veteran Retired Air Force of over 28 years. He was a Master Mason and a member of Gaffney Masonic Lodge No. 186 AFM, Gaffney, SC, a Past Worshipful Master, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shriner, and Knights Templar, actively involved with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Order of DeMolay, and past Worthy Patron of multiple Eastern Star Chapters. Stoney was married to his loving wife: Pauline for 65 years. Stoney was the proud owner of a 1954 Nash Ambassador and a member of the International Nash Club. Stoney is survived by his wife: Pauline Powell Stonehocker of their home; one sister: Marjorie Wood of Grand Junction, CO; one son: Terry Stonehocker and his partner Linda Day of Anderson, SC; two daughters: Carla Jolley and partner Tracey Witting of Townville, SC and Linda Eckman of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 4th, 2016 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, SC. Interment will follow with full Air Force Military Honors at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery in Anderson, SC. The Stonehocker family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4th, 2016 at the funeral home.
