VERNON BROWN July 3, 1934 - November 14, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. Vernon Brown, age 74, husband of Betty Cox Brown of 110 Rontree Drive, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Iva, SC on July 3, 1934, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Frank Brown and Lucy Mauldin Brown. He was a 1954 graduate of Iva High School and served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Duke Power as an electrician and was a member of the Ruff Masonic Lodge. Mr. Brown was a member of Salem Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Betty Cox Brown of the home; son, Timothy Vernon Brown; daughter, Kim Harrell; two grandchildren, Shalamar Brown and Holt Harrell all of Anderson and a brother, Vinson Brown of Hartwell, GAIn addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Aubrey, Donnie, J. C. and Hubert Brown and sisters, Dorothy Holmes, Katherine Waters, Lois Hughes and Annie Laura Thornton.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Charles Holland and Dr. Glenn Taylor. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
