Veronica Maxine Felker-Porter, age 68, of Simpsonville, formerly a resident of Anderson, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016, at St. Frances Hospital Downtown, Greenville. Her beloved family was by her side. Born on February 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Milton Felker and the late Catherine Doker Felker. After high school, Veronica attended cosmetology school in Corpus Christi, TX. Mrs. Porter was retired after many years as a nursing assistant, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, James Johnson, Paul McLeskey, and Russ McLeskey, all of Simpsonville; a daughter, Katie Smith of Honea Path; ten grandchildren, Sheena, Hayleigh, Kayla, Ryleigh, Ashleigh, and Courtney McLeskey; Josh Johnson, Abby Inge, and Bentley and Gabriel Smith; a great-grandson, Gavin Brock. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by a brother, Mick Felker, a special aunt, Rosie Lee Doker; a grandson, Garrett McLeskey, and a great-grandson, Vincent Powlette. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Marek Sotek officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
