Viola Singleton Richey
Addie Viola Singleton Richey, age 92, entered The Church Triumphant at National Health Care of Anderson on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Logan Frank Singleton and the late Martha Rena Bradberry Singleton. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Roy Augustus Richey.
Mrs. Richey was a graduate of Anderson Girl's High School. She was retired from Singer where she worked in the area of quality control. Viola was a faithful, active member of First Presbyterian Church for as long as health permitted.
Survivors include her two daughters, Charlotte Sams and her husband, Mike, of Anderson, and Hilda Harbin and her husband, Henry "Bob", of Anderson; two sisters, Lib McGill and Betty Wright, both of Anderson; four grandchildren, Matthew Calhoun Harbin, Misty Harbin Dillard, Clifton Michael Sams, and Catherine Sams Ryan; seven great-grandchildren, Billy and Hank Dillard, Paige Fry, Cal Harbin, Claire Ryan, Baylis Ryan and Addie Sams.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Roy, Mrs. Richey was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Frank Richey; mother-in-law, Clair Richey; sisters, Alice Brown, Helen Bolt; brothers, Johnny, Hubert, and Joe Singleton; and a granddaughter, Melody Harbin.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Viola S. Richey will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 27th, 2013 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Tedder and Rev. Carolina E. Berardi officiating. The family will be at their respective homes. The family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church following the memorial service Friday.
