Virginia Dell Whitworth Hunt Buchanan, age 98, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday, January 25th, 2025.

Born in Lake County, FL, she was a graduate of Winterville High School, Winterville, GA, in 1943, and a secretary at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in Washington DC. Most importantly, she was an active member of North Anderson Baptist Church since 1953, where she was a much-loved Sunday school teacher, comforter of the sick, church leader, clerk's assistant and host of a home Bible study for more than 25 years.

She is predeceased by her husbands Hershel "Buck" H. Buchanan, and Charlie Raford Hunt; her parents Troy Chandler Whitworth and Pearl Gunnels Whitworth; her son Charles Michael "Mike" Hunt; brother Sam C. Whitworth; sister, Henrietta W. Wade; and her sons-in-law Thomas P. Lee and J. Anthony Cuen.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn C. Lee; her sons, Paul D. Hunt and his wife, Carol; Gregory N. Hunt and his wife, Angie of Anderson SC; Dr. Timothy L. Hunt of NY; stepson Hershel Buchanan, Jr. of Hendersonville; daughter-in-law Lisa Montgomery (formerly Hunt); her sisters Rachel Eubank and JoAnn Dean of Athens, GA; 3 grandsons, Phillip Bryant, Justin Hunt, and Ian Hunt, 4 granddaughters Erica Rigsby, Ansley Hunt, Mikal Terry, and Molly Hunt; two step-grandchildren Jenniffer Kimbrough, and Jon Lee; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 30, 2025, at North Anderson Baptist Church, 2308 North Main Street, Anderson SC, 29621, with Rev. Bill Rigsby and Rev. Kyle Caudell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. A private burial to follow with the family at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The service will be livestreamed via North Anderson Baptist Church's Facebook page, church app, or YouTube channel.
