FURR January 3, 1945 - January 28, 2009 ANDERSON, SCMrs. Virginia Earlene Bowden Furr, age 64, wife of Buren Furr of 936 Whitten Road, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Leakesville, NC on January 3, 1945, Mrs. Furr was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Virginia Stewart Bowden. She worked in data processing for twenty years. Later she was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics for seventeen years and she was a licensed insurance agent. Mrs. Furr was a charter member of Howie Mine Baptist Church.She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Buren Lee Furr of the home; daughters, Sonya Griffin of Anderson and Kimberly Harvey and her husband, Rusty of Waxhaw, NC; brothers, Fred Bowden and his wife, Vickie of Chicago, IL and Charles Gary Bowden of Waxhaw; two granddaughters, Rachael and Laurel Harvey of Waxhaw, NC; one grandson, Timothy Griffin of Anderson; three step-children; six step-grandchildren and six-step-great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of McEwen Funeral Home, Monroe, NC, officiated by the Reverend Marilyn Wooten of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC.
