Vylene Day Purvis, age 82, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at her home. Born in Warrenton, GA, on January 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late M.W. Day and the late Nellie Reese Day. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Herbert Purvis; son, Bert Purvis and his wife Laura of Virginia Beach, VA; and two grandchildren, Ben and Sam Purvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Holland. The Memorial Service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Jack Hardaway officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the church, prior to the service on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 711 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
