William "Sonny" Price Delk, age 79, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Greenville, SC on December 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Furman Delk and the late Billie Fay Plummer Delk. Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He continued on to work as a local truck driver for McLean Trucking, Yellow Freight Company with over 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ernestine "Tina" Nix Delk; daughters, Robin Perry (Dale) of Anderson, SC, and Lynn Bisel (Fred) of Starr, SC; a sister, Mary Lou Varella of Topeka, KS; and grandchildren, Leslie Haas, Brittnay and Brandon Boggs, and Jessi Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael "Mickey" Delk. The Funeral Service will be held at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Philip Blankenship and Rev. Dan Green officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
