Wallace Jones, age 94, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at NHC Healthcare Anderson. Born October 1, 1928, in Pickens County, SC, he was a son of the late Joel Arthur Jones and Nina Beatrice Hayes Jones. He was married for 51 years to Mary Weaver Jones until her death in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Norman, Guy, Clyde, Prue, Bruce, Wayne, and Glen Jones; and sisters, Eula Trotter, Oline Evett, Avanell Banks, and Willie Mae Pace. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Wallace was the co-owner of Homeland Park Super Market for 25 years. He loved sports and was an avid Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves fan. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eureka Baptist Church, 1600 Hwy. 29 North, Anderson, SC 29621.
