Latham, age 89, husband to the late Montague Waters Latham, was reunited with his wife on Monday, June 20, 2011.Born in Iva, SC, he was a son of the late John L. Latham and Alma Tucker Latham. He served his country by serving in the United States Army during WWII. Following his retirement from Appleton Mill, Walt worked part-time at Dalton's Grocery in Iva. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. He is survived by a son, Donald Latham and his wife, Debbie of Gaston, SC; daughters, Alma Kilgore and her husband, Orr of Iva, SC, Faye O'Dell and her husband, Terry of Anderson, SC and Diane Hanks and her husband, Doug of Iva, SC; ten grandchildren, Ray Hanks, Renea Hanks, Susan O'Dell, Cathy Hudgens, Terri An Roberts, Donna Scarborough, Darlene Kilgore, Vicki Clark, Crystal Parker, Tandy Glenn and 17 great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife, Walt was predeceased by one brother and three sisters.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Randy Fleming and Reverend Sonny White. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery.The family will be at the home of his daughter, Alma Kilgore, 105 Mary Street, Iva, SC and will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.Flowers are optional.
