Walter Kay Myers, age 92, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Cumming, GA. Born in Belton, SC in 1924, he was the son of the late Plumer C. Myers and the late Sarah Bertha Kay Myers.
Mr. Myers was a graduate of Belton High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WW II where he was stationed in the Pacific theater of operations. Walter was retired from the US Government where he worked as a Clerk with the Civil Service for many years. He also worked with McLean Trucking Company in Greenville for ten years. Walter was a lifelong avid photographer.
Mr. Myers is survived by a niece, Brenda Malone and her husband, Michael Blum, and their son, David Blum, of Roswell, GA, with whom he shared a home for many years. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Bruce Myers, and two sisters, Sue Myers and Emma Malone.
A graveside service to celebrate and honor the life of Walter Myers will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn following the service.
