Walter Samuel Phillips, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Richard Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home. Born in Anderson, SC ,on December 1, 1942, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a Quality Control Inspector with Michelin for more than 30 years. Walter was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Anderson. He is survived by two brothers, Neil Phillips, of Anderson, SC and Wade Phillips and his wife Rachel of Ocala, FL; a niece, Susie Makison; and three nephews, John, Rob, and Scott Phillips. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sheila Phillips. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
