WALTER L. WHITFIELD February 27, 1930 - July 15, 2012 Walter Leadford Whitfield passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 27, 1930. He is survived by his wife, Lessie Richardson Whitfield; his son Michael Whitfield and his wife Diane, his grandchildren, Tracy Grant and Shane Whitfield; his great-grandchildren, Kayla and Bailey Grant and Tyler Whitfield; his sisters, Lucille Lundkousky and Deborah Mitchell; and his faithful companion Rosie. He loved them all with his whole heart. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Beaverdam Baptist Church in Fair Play. The Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Reverend Scott Scrimpsher officiating.
