Wanda Mitchell, 49, of Pendleton, SC passed away at Rainey Hospice House on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 after fighting a long battle with terminal illness. She is finally resting with no pain and celebrating her new heavenly home. Born, July 23, 1971 in Oconee County, SC, she was a daughter of Larry Garland and Linda Pelfrey Garland of Pendleton, SC. Wanda worked as an administrative specialist at the Divide at Bald Rock until her health issues became more severe. Even though she was in constant pain and had multiple surgeries in a 3-year period, she never lost her faith in Jesus Christ. She constantly shared her love and trust with everyone she met. Although she is no longer physically here, her witness will continue to live in many. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Amber Lingefelt (Cody); stepchildren, Kayce Cartee and Kevin Mitchell; sister, Rhonda Stewart; brother, Joey Garland (Connie); grandmother, Mary Gladys Metts; grandchildren, Eli, Madisson, Arissa, Charlie, Kimberly, Jacob, Benjamin, and A.J.; and husband, Ricky Mitchell. Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the McDougald Funeral Home, Pendleton Center from 10 am - 1 pm. A graveside ceremony will follow at Memory Gardens, Clemson at 2 pm. Rev. Roger Allison will officiate. Social distancing will be observed, and masks are recommended.
