Wanda "Joann" Smith Whitlock, loving wife of Clyde Edward Whitlock, age 83, passed away on December 31, 2017, at Poinsett Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Greenville, SC. Born in Anderson, SC, on April 2, 1934, Wanda was the daughter of the late Sylvan Smith and Mary Pearl Addison Smith. She worked as a Food Service Production Associate for Wometco Food Service Company, and was a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church. In addition to her husband Clyde, Wanda is survived by her nephews, Richard Cox (June), Don Looney, Ken Wentzsky (Susan), and Jamie Wentzsky, all of Anderson, SC; nieces, Fredna Crocker (Doug) of Anderson, SC, and Debbie Hoffer (Glenn) of Alpharetta, GA; stepdaughter, Vickie O'Leary of Anderson, SC; brother, Morris Smith (Barbara) of Stockton, CA; and a sister, Pearlene Brock of Anderson, SC. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a son, Steven Earl Williams; brothers, Harold, Clyde, and Dan Smith; and sisters, Mildred Cox and Hazel Scarborough. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend James Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to Homeland Park Baptist Church, 3010 Abbeville Hwy., Anderson, SC 29624.
