Waverly Daniel Love, age 84, passed away on November 17, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Love's Mill, VA, on October 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Waverly Vaughn Love and the late Mary Elizabeth Love. Dan was specialized in aviation beginning with Piedmont Airlines in which he served for 15 years. After attending college he began his career as an Air Traffic Controller where he retired after 28 years of service. He had many honorable affiliations: NARFE member, Foster Care Review Board, and Men's Sunday School Class at Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a dedicated member who also helped run the church sound system. He loved square dancing and was a devoted father and grandfather who will be truly missed. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lillie Saunders Love; a son, Robert Waverly Love (Sandy) of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Gay Love McLeskey (Mac) of Anderson, SC, and Ann Love Owens (Doug) of Abbeville, SC; grandchildren, John, Jason, and Joseph Brushwood; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Edward Love; and one great-grandson, Andrew Brushwood. The family will have a private entombment service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Teasley and Rev. Bob Carlisle officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1809 N.
