STRICKLANDJuly 23, 1917 - March 28, 2012ANDERSON, SCWilbur Edwin Strickland, husband of the late Dorothy Stoddard Strickland, of 421 Tanglewood Drive, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Belton, Wilbur was the son of the late Ethel McKee Strickland and Fred Strickland. He worked in textiles for over 40 years and was an avid gardener. He was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Keith Strickland; daughter-in-law, Jerie Strickland; grandchildren, Steve Strickland and his wife, Jill, and their daughter, Rebecca, all of Anderson. He was preceded in death by a son, Wilbur Eugene Strickland; a sister, Margaret S. Walker, and a grandson, Jason Strickland.Funeral services will be held Sunday, April, 1, 2012, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at The McDougald Funeral Home, officiated by the Reverend Bill Rigby. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.Flowers are optional.
