Wilburn C. Gilreath, age 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born May 4, 1933 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Guy Telford Gilreath and Fanny Ruth Massey Gilreath. Wilburn was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the Engineering Department of AnMed Health and loved to hunt, fish and golf. Wilburn was a member of Sierra Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Bradley F. Gilreath (Kim); brothers, Donnie Gilreath (Janice) and John Gilreath (Lucia); sisters, Annette Gilreath Martin (Ray) and Nancy Gilreath Smith; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Guy Overcash, Bertie Lou Gilreath Merrideth, Larry M. Gilreath, Doug Gilreath, and Ronnie Gilreath. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Stan Cole officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Patriot Hospice, 101 Grace Dr., Easley, SC 29640. The family will be at the home, 118 Mariposa Circle, Anderson, SC.
