Willene Swafford passed from this life on July 12, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her family when she passed.

Willene spent many years doing taxes and enjoying her family. She was born in Spartanburg, SC, and was the daughter of Denton and Edith Griffin.

She is survived by her husband Ronald Swafford; children, Scott Yearwood, Angie Lawson, and Jessica Dunn; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Austin Smith; two sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Rick Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Griffin, Tim Swafford, Scott Cockrell, Ben McCartha, Jonathan Dunn and Robbie Demars.

There will be a family hosted gathering at Daventon Baptist Church following the burial, 312 Daventon Road, Pelzer, SC.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 4124 Clemson Blvd Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
