'BILL' BENNETTOctober 9, 1932 - October 13, 2007ANDERSON, SCWilliam Donald Bennett, Sr., age 75, of 2804 Centerville Road, died Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Cannon, GA, Mr. Bennett was a son of the late Clarence C. Bennett and Nezzie M. Lloyd Bennett. He was retired from the finance business and was currently employed at Tri-County Homes and was a member of Anderson VFW Post 5996 and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Bennett was a United States Air Force veteran.Survivors include, his son, William D. 'Billy' Bennett, Jr., and his wife, Teresa of Anderson; daughters, Mary Lynn Ellis, Gayla Loree Batson and her husband, Franky, and Michelle Gambrell, all of Anderson; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Maroney and Carol Roberts, both of Townville, SC.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jones E. Bennett.A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with military honors, officiated by the Reverends Sam Chasteen, Billy Ray Whitfield, and Mark Dixon.
