William Kenneth Martin, age 65, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at McCall Hospice House. Born February 24, 1956, in Boone, NC, he was the son of the late William Taylor Martin and Virginia Elaine Marshall Martin. Billy was a U.S. military veteran serving for 29 years in the Marines and Army Reserves. He was an auto mechanic by trade and was of the Baptist faith. Billy was a Pastmaster of Divver Masonic Lodge #349 AFM, an avid outdoorsman and spent 32 years as a baseball coach in the Anderson community coaching all different age groups. He is survived by wife, Norma Jean Kelley Martin; son, Ricky Martin (Elise) of Anderson; daughter, Tara Bonds of Anderson; brothers, Pete Martin (Carroll), Frankie Martin (Jo Ann), Mark Martin (Jackie), and Jody Martin all of Virginia; sisters, Jeanita Gilpin (Jack) of Virginia, Karen Gaines (Charles) of Arkansas, and Susie Hensley (Randy) of Virginia; grandchildren, Leland Bonds, Kenneth Bonds (Kaylyn), Lane Martin, Cason Martin, and Sawyer Martin; and one expected great grandchild, Searcy Bonds. The family will receive friends Friday, November 12, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Leland Bonds officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at 651 Old Asbury Rd., Anderson, SC.
