William Brown Davis Sr., age 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.Born May 27, 1927, in Belton, SC, he was a son of the late Herman Brown Davis and Ruby McCoy Davis. He served in the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of the Ruff Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his wife, Louise Staton Davis, of the home; three children: Sharon Carter and husband, Tommy, of Anderson, SC, William B. 'Bill' Davis Jr. and wife, Suah, of Virginia, and Karen McClain and husband, Brian, of Greer, SC; four grandchildren: Jennifer Ashley Davis, Shannon L. Roach, Alyson Beth Johnson, and Thomas Alan Carter; and one great granddaughter, Leslie Carter Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Herman Alvin Davis.In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Davis, there will be no visitation and a private family graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.Flowers will be omitted.
