WILLIAM HARVEY FALLS May 20, 1928 - July 11, 2006SENECA, SC Mr. William Harvey Falls of 845 Summit Ridge Drive, beloved husband of Dorothy Savage Falls, died July 11, 2006 at his home following a valiant battle with cancer.Bill was born in River Forest, Illinois, to Dr. Frederick Howard Falls and Margaret Haseltine Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frederick Howard Falls, Jr., and David Falls.In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by a daughter, Cathy Court of California, as well as three brothers: Dr. John Lawrence Falls of Red Wing, MN; Richard Haseltine Falls of Montgomery, AL; and Dr. Hugh Churchill Falls and his wife, Alice of Lake Forest, IL; a sister-in-law, Jane Falls of Red Wing, MN. Nephews and nieces dear to Bill's heart include John Raymond Falls and wife Christina of La Jolla, CA; Bruce Falls and wife, Shelly of Dove Canyon, CA; Sara Ranta and husband, Alan of Burnsville, MN; Virginia Hughes and husband, James of Montgomery, AL; Tony Falls of Montgomery, AL; Steve Falls of Minneapolis, MN; Sally Falls of Evanston, IL; Michael O'Rourke of Austin, TX; Kelly Johns of Eagen, MN; Douglas Falls of Chicago, IL; Christopher Falls of Chicago, IL; and Amy Falls of New York, NY. Survivors also include many friends who will always treasure their memories of Bill.Bill attended the University of Illinois and began his career as a radio and television producer for NBC-Chicago. Later, he was owner and captain of a charter sailboat in the British West Indies for nine years. For the last thirty-five years, Bill was a real estate broker at real estate developments in the Southeast.Bill will be remembered by his family and friends as a gourmet cook, a master craftsman, a fabulous storyteller, and a true gentleman. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.At Bill's request, a private committal service will be held at a later date at the family island on Lake Kawaugesaga in Minocqua, WI, where he and his family spent many summers as the six brothers grew up.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.comTHE MC DOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
