William Sylvanious Glenn, Sr., age 71, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born August 16, 1953, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Hoyt Boyd Glenn and Mattie Lou Porter Glenn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Turner.

William was a career military man retiring as a 1st Sergeant from the United States Army after 23 years of dedicated service to his country. Following his retirement, he worked at Michelin for over 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring old cars; he was a jack of all trades. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Shirley Faye Roland Glenn; sons, Michael Glenn (Christie) and William S. "Will" Glenn, Jr. (Sandie Vaughn); siblings Roger Glenn and Helen Sutherland (Bobby); grandchildren, Bryceson Glenn, Brooklyn Glenn, Ja'Lyric Patterson, Austin Layton, and Hunter Layton; and a great granddaughter, Aurora.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 pm Asbury Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. DeLennon Stowe officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
