Seneca William Henry "Bill" Goldman of Seneca, SC, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, surrounded by his wife and children; he had been in declining health for several years. The son of Glenn and Marjorie Goldman, Bill was born on August 1, 1929, in Oakland City, IN. He earned his B.A. from Indiana State University in 1951 and his Masters in Audiology and Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in 1958. He was director of the Speech and Hearing Clinic in Columbia, SC, from 1960-72 and in Anderson, SC, from 1972-94. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Norma Jean Thompson, in 1950; they were together for 65 years and raised their four children starting in Indianapolis, IN, and later in Columbia, SC, and Starr, SC. Upon his retirement in 1994, Bill and Norma traveled the world and enjoyed spending time with their children and their families. They were also active in Good Hope Presbyterian Church in Iva, SC, for many years. In addition to his wife Norma, Bill is survived by sons Stan Goldman (Mary) of Charlotte, NC, Jon Goldman (Larry Bohannan) of Spruce Pine, NC, and Jim Goldman of Seneca, SC; daughter, Lesa Goldman (Laurie) of Livonia, MI; grandson Christopher Skulkety of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughters Jessica Gray of Greenville, SC, and Hannah Goldman of Anderson, SC. Bill was a loving husband and father, and he was highly respected and well-loved by all who knew him. He truly had a wonderful life. Thanks to all family and friends who helped during his final days, and also to Hands of Mercy Hospice and to Home Instead for their caregiving. The funeral service will be held at Good Hope Presbyterian Church in Iva, SC, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Annette Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
