William Eugene Hanvey, age 73, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 20, 1948, in Anderson, he was the son of the late William Thomas Hanvey and Dessie Margaret Glenn Hanvey. He was married to the late Betty Lou Shirley Hanvey. William worked in the textile industry and was the owner of D&H Machinery Maintenance. He enjoyed the outdoors and reading but loved his family, friends and his dog Roxie most of all. He was a member of River Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, James Russell Hanvey of Anderson; daughter, Margaret Brady (Chris) of Starr; sisters, Frances Addis and Shirley Heaton (Calvin) both of Anderson; and grandchildren, Marissa Brady and Blake Brady. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Hood and Rachael Wiley. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev Dwayne Peeples officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
