OBITUARYW.J. 'BILLY' HAWKINSANDERSON, SCMr. William J. Hawkins, age 90, widower of the late Marie Pruitt Hawkins, died on Friday, April 11, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late W.J. and Cola P. Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church and retired from Clark-Schwebel. He was a life-long farmer.Survivors include one son, Donald 'Pete' Hawkins and his wife, Jean Hawkins of Anderson; one daughter, Ruby Wynell Ashley and her husband, John Wendell Ashley of Belton; grandchildren: Melissa Collier, Jeff Hawkins, Wendy Ashley ' Bobo, and John Ashley; great grandchildren: Rachel Collier, Zach Collier, Josh Bobo, Whitner Bobo, and Rylee Hawkins; sisters, Doris Hawkins of Anderson and Olga Hogg of Belton.In addition to Mr. Hawkins' wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Hawkins and sisters, Ruby Hogg and Annie Hawkins.The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Long Branch Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Wayne Watson, Reverend Dr. Ron Culbertson, and Reverend Landrum Reece.
