Main Street Anderson, SC 29621 864-224-4343OBITUARY WITH PHOTO FLAG WILLIAM WADE 'SARGE' KELLY September 23, 1946 - December 8, 2006ANDERSON, SC1st Sergeant William Wade Kelly, U.S. Army Ret'd, age 60 of 508 Ottawa Circle, Anderson, SC, died Friday, December 08, 2006 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on September 23, 1946, Mr. Kelly was the husband of Mi Hwa Yi 'Penny' Kelly and the son of Dessie Mae Bailey Broyles of Anderson, SC and the late William Paul Kelly. He was a truck driver with the Amarillo/Hess Oil Company and attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He was a United States Army veteran having served eleven years in Korea and three tours of duty in Vietnam and three tours of duty in Beirut, Lebanon. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, two Vietnam Campaign Awards. He was a member of the Anderson V.F.W. Post #5996 serving as the Quarter Master and was the 2006 Man of the Year and was instrumental in creating the only Post Cancer Fund in America. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Marie Kelly Brown and her husband, Chris of Anderson, SC; two brother, Jimmy Dale Kelly Sr., and Paul 'Ricky' Kelly, both of Anderson; two grandsons, Jesse Brown and Zachary Brown and many nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Eugene Kelly and step-father, Robert 'Buck' Broyles, Jr.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Sam Duncan and Charles Howell, Jr. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson, SC with Military Honors.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 9, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
