ANSEL LEWIS February 3, 1939 - January 3, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. William Ansel Lewis, age 67, husband of Margaret David Lewis of 9212 Abbeville Highway, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on February 3, 1939, Mr. Lewis was a son of the late John Leland Lewis and Lettie Elizabeth Moore Lewis. He was retired from Bigelow Sanford, Rocky River Plant in Calhoun Falls, SC, with over 20 years of service. He was an honorary member of the Pack 20 of the Cub Scouts in Belton and had served with them as Santa Claus in the Belton Christmas Parade. Mr. Lewis was a member of Varennes Presbyterian Church in Anderson.Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Margaret David Lewis of the home; son, John Darryl Lewis of Anderson; daughters, Sonja Chambers, Melissa M. Lewis, both of Anderson and Jimmie Lewis Craigo of Belton; brother Henry Young Lewis of Anderson; sisters, Louise Blume of Iva, Mary Madden of Clinton, SC and Dorothy Shaw of Athens, GA. Eight grandchildren also survive, they are, Sonja Carly Chambers, Randi Nicole McAbee, Kelly Ann Chambers, Tina Cassidy Lewis, Lauren Haley Lewis, Ross Brook McConnell, Jesse Bryan Craigo and Spencer Kanen Craigo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William A. Lewis, Jr.; a daughter, Tina Louise McConnell and two brothers, John L. Lewis, Jr., and Charlie M. Lewis.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Charles Howell. Interment will follow in Varennes Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2007 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.The family will be at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com.THE MC DOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
