William David Martin, Jr., age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson.

Born September 22, 1951, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late William David Martin, Sr., and Mary Louise Smith Martin.

William was a 1969 graduate of BHP and a 1973 graduate of The Citadel. He also earned Masters Degrees at Clemson and Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO. William worked in education for over 30 years beginning as a teacher in Anderson District 5 but spending most of his career in Anderson District 1 as a teacher and guidance counselor. He also worked in Adult Education in District 1 for many years and served as the pastor of Mountville Presbyterian Church, PCA, for 33 years.

William is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lou Ann Mathieu Martin, his daughter Anne Marie Martin, his son William David Martin, III (Emily), granddaughters Lucy and Amelia Martin, and his brother C. Eddie Martin (Pam).

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18, at 10:00 am, at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 126 Fairview Church Road, Fountain Inn, SC 29644, with visitation to follow.
